The Story behind TERRAIN

TERRAIN is a ceramic collection shaped by landscape, memory, and movement. Over the past year, my creative practice has been deeply influenced by three environments that I came to call home: the sultry desert of Las Vegas, the manicured elegance of Parisian gardens, and the vibrant tropics of South Florida.

Each of these terrains carries its own visual language. In Las Vegas, the desert sky stretches endlessly, where warm sands meet dramatic sunsets layered with amber, rose, and deep violet. In Paris, carefully designed gardens offer quiet beauty—symmetry, structure, and thoughtful restraint shaping every pathway and hedge. In South Florida, the landscape becomes lush and expansive, where dense greenery, humid air, and shifting coastal colors create a sense of wild abundance.

TERRAIN brings these landscapes together through ceramic form. The colors, patterns, and silhouettes within the collection echo the environments that inspired them: the gradient glow of desert evenings, the ordered rhythm of Parisian garden design, and the organic movement of tropical growth and water.

Each piece serves as a small tribute to the places that shaped this season of my life. Together, they form a collection that explores how landscapes imprint themselves onto memory—and how those impressions transform into texture, color, and form.

Tropical South Florida

South Florida’s tropics pulse with color, humidity, and movement; an environment where lush greenery, shifting water, and bright skies blur the boundary between land and sea. The landscape feels abundant and alive, shaped by warmth and constant growth. Within the collection, this terrain reveals itself through vibrant tones, organic shapes, and flowing patterns that mirror the energy of the tropics.

Parisian Gardens

Parisian gardens are a study in elegance and intention, where nature is gently guided into symmetry, rhythm, and quiet refinement. Gravel paths, sculpted hedges, and blooming parterres create a landscape of effortless order and romantic stillness. These influences emerge in structured patterns, balanced forms, and delicate visual harmony.

Las Vegas Desert

The desert of Las Vegas carries a quiet drama; vast, sun-scorched earth beneath skies that ignite each evening in layers of amber, rose, and deep violet. Its stark openness reveals a raw beauty shaped by heat, wind, and time. In this collection, the desert appears in warm gradients, fluid lines, and forms that echo the horizon’s endless calm.
